Great Kids, Inc. prepares teams of community childcare trainers to facilitate
the training portion of the curriculum with their local caregivers
(or their own staff) and to teach them how to use the Growing Great
Kids materials for children and their parents.

The Growing Great Kids for Child Caregivers
Training Curriculum consists of 4 units, each with 7 learning
modules. The Curriculum units,
and the individual modules, can be presented
as freestanding classes or as part of a comprehensive training
program. Many of the modules are built
around engaging videos that bring concepts
to life and reduce preparation time for the trainer. Corresponding
discussion questions and activities
assist the facilitator with information integration
and skill growth. Caregivers learn to use activities and caregiver/parent
handouts included
in their own guidebooks, that correspond
to the modules listed below, to transfer learning into their daily
interactions and care practices
with children and their parents.

Growing Great Kids for Child Caregivers is visually engaging, simply written,

for the Trainer / Infant-Toddler Specialist, as well as guidebooks

be used with both groups of care providers in classroom settings
or during home visits with individual caregivers. The Curriculum

caregivers
to embrace cultural diversity and children with special needs.

Train-the-Trainer Institute

This 5-day Train-the-Trainer Institute is an energizing experience for
Trainers of Child Care providers responsible for improving the quality
of childcare in their communities or at their centers. Participants will
learn how to:
- Use a strength-based approach to encourage child caregivers
to participate in a comprehensive training program focused on enhancing
their
knowledge related to infant/child
care and development.
- Integrate 5 skill sets related to caregiving practices
that build responsive relationships with children that support
their development.
- Address concerns with caregivers using communication
strategies that motivate growth and change.
- Provide a comprehensive, relationship-based training
program for caregivers that will result in more sensitive,
empathic care being provided
in safe and stimulating environments.
- Facilitate 28 prepared caregiving training modules
that can be presented as freestanding classes or as part
of a comprehensive training
package.
