GKI's integrated approach, combining Core Training and
the Growing Great Kids curriculum is the
only training/curriculum package currently available
that provides a weekly step-by-step guide for home
visits/groups, based on the concepts taught in core
training. This package gives supervisors the focus,
skills and confidence required for achieving positive
program outcomes.
It is recommended that upon completion of core
training, supervisors of home visitors participate
in a Growing Great
Kids seminar, which certifies supervisors to
support their staff in implementing this interactive
parent-child and family support curriculum. Beginning
prenatally, Growing Great Kids is a comprehensive
curriculum that supports the development of nurturing
and empathic parent-child relationships for 0-3 year
olds. It does so by focusing on child development and
health, provision of care, parenting concerns and dynamics
of parent-child and family relationships.
